Lightfury Games

Lightfury Games

Founded 2024 in Hyderabad. We use generative AI to build open worlds that a small team could not hand-craft at the same scale. Terrain synthesized at runtime. Characters assembled from trait pools. Story that grows from what the world actually made.

Worlds too big to hand-craft

Lightfury Games formed around a frustration. Open worlds in games feel expansive on first contact, but the seams show quickly: the same inn layout in every village, dialogue trees that repeat, boss arenas that recycle the same geometry. Hand-crafting everything at scale is a problem of budget, not ambition.

The founding thesis was simple: what if generative AI handled the parts that repeat, so the studio could focus budget on the parts players actually feel? Terrain, character assembly, narrative branching each run. Not random noise, but structured synthesis that produces something that feels designed.

Since 2024 we have been building Lumenfall to test that thesis. The angel backing we received in late 2025 gave us the runway to push the AI engine into an alpha build and get real players through it.

The People

Who builds Lumenfall

Karan Shroff, CEO and Co-Founder of Lightfury Games

Karan Shroff

CEO and Co-Founder

Years building game product systems and AI-assisted content pipelines. Co-founded Lightfury around a single question: what does an open world look like when the generator makes the decisions, not the designer?

Riya Balan, Lead World Architect at Lightfury Games

Riya Balan

Lead World Architect

Background in generative environment design and procedural asset pipelines, working on the problem of open-world terrain coherence across scales. At Lightfury she owns the spatial grammar engine that gives each run its geological logic.

Tariq Musa, AI Systems Lead at Lightfury Games

Tariq Musa

AI Systems Lead

Background in real-time AI inference and generative character behavior systems. Moved into game development because interactive worlds give a generative system a feedback loop that static benchmarks never do. Owns Lumenfall's NPC personality synthesis and runtime inference architecture.

Backing

Angel-backed and independently spirited

In late 2025, Lightfury Games received angel investment to accelerate Lumenfall development. The funding expanded our runway without changing how we work: small team, public development, deep ownership of the hard problems. We build in public through the Dev Blog because we believe the process of making something genuinely new should be visible.
